Privacy Statement

Privacy Statement

Privacy-sensitive data, or personal data, are processed via the DFK-Steel website. DFK-Steel considers careful handling of personal data to be of great importance.

We therefore carefully process and secure personal data. In our processing, we adhere to the requirements set by the European Privacy Regulation (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). This means, among other things, that we:

  • clearly state for what purposes we process personal data. We do this via this privacy statement;
  • limit our collection of personal data to only the personal data that is necessary for legitimate purposes;
  • first ask your permission to process your personal data in cases where your permission is required;
  • take appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data and also demand this from parties that process personal data on our behalf;
  • respect your right to provide your personal data for inspection, correction or deletion upon your request.

DFK-Steel is responsible for the data processing. In this privacy statement we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose. We recommend that you read it carefully.

Use of personal data

For example, by requesting communication, applying for a job or contacting us, you leave certain data with us. This may be personal data. Personal data is all data that can be directly or indirectly traced back to a specific person.

We collect and use your personal data only for the purposes for which you provide it to us. This may be the case, for example, when you sign up for our newsletter, make a purchase or contact us via the contact form. The personal data we collect may include your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and payment details.

The aforementioned data is processed by us on the basis of a legitimate interest or on the basis of your consent. Providing this data is not mandatory. If you do not wish or are unable to provide this information, we request that you contact us via info@dfk-steel.nl

Processing personal data

We process your personal data based on the following legitimate interests:

  • establishing contact via our contact form;
  • analyzing your behavior on the website in order to improve the website and tailor the range of products and services to your preferences.

Withdrawal of personal data

You can withdraw your consent for the aforementioned personal data processing at any time. As soon as you withdraw your consent, we will no longer process this personal data. However, the withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data prior to this withdrawal.

Retention period of personal data

We do not store your personal data longer than necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes, unless a longer retention period applies by law. As soon as these purposes are achieved, or the legal retention period has expired, your personal data will be deleted as soon as possible.

Contact form

If you fill out a contact form on the website, or send us an e-mail, the data you send us will be stored for as long as is necessary for the complete answering and handling thereof, based on the nature of the form or the content of your e-mail.

Location data

If this is necessary for the service, we can collect location data (GPS). Your permission will be requested for this at the time itself. This (location) data can also be stored and processed by the provider of, for example, the navigation/map software, such as Google Maps, but the data can also be used by, for example, Google or Apple itself.

We have no influence on this. We recommend that you read the relevant privacy statements of the relevant provider.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Ireland Limited. If the person responsible for data processing on this website is located outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland, then Google Analytics data processing is carried out by Google LLC. Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited will be referred to as “Google” below.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on the computer of the website visitor and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by the visitor. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website by the website visitor (including the shortened IP address) is usually transmitted to a Google server and stored there.

Google Analytics is used on this website exclusively with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. This extension ensures anonymization of the IP address by shortening it and excludes direct personal references. With this extension, Google shortens the IP address within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by the respective browser within the framework of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

On behalf of the operator of the website, Google will use the collected information to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the site operator with other services relating to website activity and internet usage (Art. 6 para. 1f GDPR). The legitimate interest in data processing lies in the optimization of this website, the analysis of the use of the website and the adaptation of the content. The interests of the users are adequately protected by pseudonymization.

Google LLC. guarantees an appropriate level of data protection on the basis of the European standard contractual clauses. The data sent and linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g. user IDs) or advertising IDs will be automatically deleted after 50 months. Data whose retention period has been reached will be automatically deleted once a month.

The visitor to the website can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in his browser. The visitor can also prevent Google from collecting information (including the IP address) via cookies and processing this information by downloading and installing this browser plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The visitor to the site can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking here . An “opt-out cookie” is then placed on the website, which ensures that the data of the website visitor is no longer collected when the visitor visits the website.

For more information about data processing and data use by Google, the options for settings and objections, please refer to Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en) and the settings for Google Ads (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

reCAPTCHA

We use the reCAPTCHA service from Google LLC (Google) to protect data sent via this website. This function checks whether a message is sent by a person, in order to prevent ‘spam bots’ from automatically sending messages or leaving comments, for example. The IP address of a visitor and possibly other data are sent to make Google reCAPTCHA work. The content of a message is sent to and processed by Google for this purpose. The IP address is abbreviated and therefore made anonymous in countries that are part of the EU and states that participate in the Treaty on the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases, an IP address is transmitted in full to a Google server in the United States and abbreviated there. Google uses this data on behalf of the owner of this website to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address that reCAPTCHA transmits is not merged with other data from Google. Google’s data protection regulations apply to the collection of this data. More information about Google’s privacy policy can be found on this page: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=nl By using reCAPTCHA, you agree that Google processes data about you in the manner and for the purposes described above.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational security measures to limit misuse of and unauthorized access to personal data.

Provision of data to third parties

In some cases, we must engage third parties to support us in carrying out certain activities. If these third parties are granted access to your personal data, this will only be with parties that handle your personal data carefully and in accordance with the GDPR. The personal data is processed in the EEA, or by organizations outside the EEA with which we have agreed an appropriate level of protection.

Third party websites

This privacy statement does not apply to third party websites that are linked to this website and to which we do not provide any personal data of you. We cannot guarantee that these third parties will handle your personal data in a reliable or secure manner. We recommend that you read the privacy statement of these websites before using them.

Automated decision-making

DFK-Steel does not use automated decision-making.

Your rights

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can also object to the processing of your personal data and have the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, or if you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact us via info@dfk-steel.nl

Filing a complaint

If you believe that we are processing your personal data in an improper or unlawful manner and that we are not/insufficiently responding to your objection or request, as referred to above, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Of course, we prefer that you contact us about this first.

Changing the privacy statement

We reserve the right to change this privacy statement from time to time. The most recent version of the privacy statement can always be found on our website.
